Project: The district town of Sömmerda successfully participated in the ERDF competition of the Thuringian Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture (TMIL) "Sustainable Urban and Local Development" and became programme municipality for the ERDF funding of the Free State of Thuringia 2014 - 2020. The project Urban Upgrading of Urban Neighbourhoods and Municipalities Based on Integrated Urban Development Concepts - City Management 2017-2019, aims to secure the inner city's business location in times of demographic change, growing online shopping and changing local shopping behaviour. The network initiative "Making City Centres Successful" was launched by the Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) together with the other municipalities Apolda, Eisenach, and Sondershausen. To accomplish this, various actors are on board - from the city administration to merchants, service providers and caterers to house and property owners. Together, projects to strengthen the city centres are launched. In the form of targeted coaching, the inner city actors are given impulses for further development, among other things, and current trends are communicated. The object of the measure is project management and general advisory services.
