Project: The reconstruction of the former monastery in Worbis and the former "Stadt "L" - Complex" in Leinfelde are planned. In the past, the former "Stadt L" used to be a town hall, restaurant, and Intershop. In future, it will serve as a town library, conference room and commercial space. The renovation has begun. The redevelopment of the two buildings also sets an important impulse on the way to the Landesgartenschau 2024. (Leinefelde and Worbis are hosting it.)

The former monastery in Worbis is being renovated. After the redevelopment, the town administration, a citizens' office and the district library will move in. In this way, the historic structure can be saved for posterity used permanently. Even though the renovation is still ongoing: Models and computer simulations can already be used to get an impression of the future objects and clearly show the before/after effect.

The following speaks for Leinefelde-Worbis: ERDF funding is embedded in an overall urban redevelopment concept (until 2020). The town has already implemented various projects in the field of urban renewal. As early as the beginning of the 1990s, the historic town centres were surveyed, and redevelopment goals were identified. This made it possible to renovate these areas comprehensively and take advantage of the subsidies. With the successful application for the Landesgartenschau 2024, Leinefelde-Worbis has taken on a new major challenge after the successful urban redevelopment.
